Rowing

Woodrow's Crew team competes though the White Rock Rowing and Dallas United Crew clubs. Students wishing to get PE credit for rowing must follow the instructions for the off-campus PE credit, found on the Athletics Forms/Policies page.

The White Rock Rowing Youth Program is a nationally recognized youth rowing program that includes youth from middle and high schools across the Dallas Metroplex. It is a fun and competitive rowing program that encourages and emphasizes good sportsmanship and individual responsibility; traits that will serve young people well for their lifetimes. Team members are encouraged to achieve personal as well as team goals. White Rock Rowing trains from September to May and competes both at regattas in Texas and Oklahoma and at rowing venues across the United States. Qualified boats race at the USRowing Youth Nationals held each June.

The White Rock Rowing Junior program is open to all 7th graders and above. White Rock Rowing is a co-ed program comprised of middle school, novice, and varsity athletes. No experience is needed to begin rowing. Young men and women compete separately in novice and varsity squads. All technical and conditioning training is introduced in the first year. For more information about rowing, visit the White Rock Rowing website.

Dallas United has grown from a single program with a competitive high school rowing team to offering six distinct programs serving both youth and adults in competitive and recreation oar and paddle sports. We serve people of all ages and abilities from across Dallas and the Metroplex. These programs challenge, strengthen and empower people mentally and physically.  Both novice and experienced rowers and paddlers are welcome.  DUC is a registered 501c(3) nonprofit organization and donations are tax-deductible. Our board is 100% Volunteer Driven.

Dallas United Crew’s competitive youth programs have long been sought after for their award winning seasons.  However, it takes much more than just rowing a boat to gain a victory.  Synchronization in rowing represents synchronization in commitment.  That commitment is maintained by each young athlete.

The DUC youth not only learn leadership but are required to mentor their work ethic and high standards to the new rowers as they join the team.  This level of excellence could not be achieved if not for the dedication of the coaches and rowers as well as the families that support them. For more information about rowing, visit the Dallas United Crew website.
