PTA PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Welcome back Wildcat Nation! I hope all our families had a peaceful holiday break. Woodrow PTA is looking forward to the new year and a strong spring semester! We welcomed our Woodrow teachers and staff back this week with a coffee and breakfast taco truck! We appreciate all they do and hope this helps kick off the new year right!

We are moving the first Woodrow PTA general meeting to January 12 at 7 p.m. Please make plans to attend virtually via Zoom. Look for a link early next week.

Happy New Year!

Woodrow PTA President

SBDM AND PTA MEETINGS

The SBDM and PTA meetings originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 5 will be postponed to Wednesday, January 12 via Zoom.

FALL ACP / HOLD HARMLESS

At the December 2021 Dallas ISD Board meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a waiver to specific ACP policy language to ensure student semester grades are not negatively impacted by Fall ACP results.

To ensure students are held harmless by the Fall ACP results and to ensure that teachers, leaders, and the District retain key data to inform instructional support decisions, several protocols will be implemented. Read more.

ACP TESTING MAKE UPS

If your student was absent for a teacher-made ACP test, your student will schedule time to take that exam with the teacher. If your student was unable to take a District-created ACP due to an absence or issue with technology, the school will provide a make-up testing schedule by the end of the week.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to 2022. With each new year comes hope and optimism about a brighter future. It’s a chance to reflect and commit to habits necessary for the outcomes we desire. In many cases it’s simply getting back to basics.

Woodrow has an unparalleled history of excellence. When students return on Wednesday we’ll meet with them to celebrate accomplishments from the fall, remind them of the legacy they are a part of, and reset social and academic expectations necessary to maintain the Woodrow standard.
